Our client is a fully programmatic, data-driven, digital marketing company based in 11 countries around the world. Turns consumer data into valuable insights and creative display advertising campaigns, helping businesses increase brand awareness, find new customers and better maintain customer relationships.

They are seeking an Engineer to join their Data Warehousing team with the responsibility of designing and implementing several key modules of the Data Warehouse. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

Duties:   

• Design and implement a data pipeline for moving log data into an HDFS repository
• Design and implement a framework for running various data transformations on schedule
• Configure and tune hadoop clusters
• Work with advanced users to facilitate ad-hoc querying of the data stored in the Data Warehouse 
• Closely work with data analysts team on implementation of advanced data mining algorithms

Required Skills and Abilities: 

• Good command of *nix scripting (perl, python, etc.)
• Knowledge of Linux
• Knowledge of SQL
• Ability to program in Java is a plus
• Ability to identify and fix problems in large datasets
• Knowledge of map-reduce and hadoop-based technologies 

Education and/or Experience: 

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related discipline
• Experience of working with large data volumes (processing of more than 1 GB of data per day)
• Experience in analytical insights
